Summer Escape: Vienna, Austria – 1

Travel-SeasonHello Lovelies,

I hope you had a splendid July 4th long weekend. By now some of you might know that I’ve been away from the keyboard for a while during my travels in Europe for a few weeks.  Despite my absence from the blog, I was actually working on the road. Between the time difference and the jet lag, work was rough! I absolutely do not recommend working on vacation, especially if it’s somewhere with a six or more hour time difference. One of my bosses told me that it was a bad idea not having a work/life balance…oh she was SO right!!!

vienna_austria_summer-travel-1My first stop in Europe was Vienna, Austria. Guys, I have to say Vienna’s airport is the best I’ve ever been to. The modern bathrooms, WIFI service, lounge areas…perfectly clean and accessible. Although it was just a quick stop-over, I decided to take the train from the airport to check out the town and get a bite. Besides walking around for food, I was too tired to do much else. I went to this amazing spot, Happy Cakes where everything was so delicious. If you follow me on social media, you might have seen a few of my favorites travel essentials, but in cased you missed it, see below for few intafaves. Looking forward to sharing more of my European journey with you soon.

Few-of-my-favesLeft to right:

1: I received the St. Tropez Dispenser by SmellBent in May’s POPSUGAR Must Have Box, and it smells amazing. It’s like they bottled summer! If you like the scent of coconut, then you will love this. The accompanying baubles are from Baublebar. If you’re a girly-girl and planning to come to New York City, I highly recommend you check out The Bar by BaubleBar. You’ll have a blast trying all the baubles.

2: This VSX Sport Bra was provided to me as a tester from Influenster. I’m not a big fan of wearing bras, and tend to wear reusable pasties instead. So, it took me a while to finally try out the VSX…just about as long as it took me to get up the motivation to start jogging again. I was tentative about the bra at first but discovered I really like the VSX Sport Bra! I don’t feel constricted, and felt like I was wearing one of my comfy crop tops. So, it was a pleasant surprise and I was happy to score it in such a fun color.

3: I’m forever grateful for my blogosphere bestie EssentJewels who recommended CLARINS Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrat. I had been looking for an eye cream for over a year, and while I’ve found some other good hydrating and refreshing eye products, this product proved to be the ultimate savior for all my eye care issues, including early stage wrinkles due to all my sleep deprivation. These Kerry Cassill also came in handy because I was long overdue for a new one. They are made of cotton fabric which is quite soft and I think they would make great gifts. Speaking of great gifts, you may recall earlier this year I mentioned that I purchased a Mario Badescu sunscreen. I am glad to say it didn’t disappoint. This is the first time that I used a facial sunscreen and didn’t breakout.  Enough said! 🙂

4: In case you were wondering about my summer reading list, The One & Only by Emily Giffin is at the top. As you can see in this picture, I am a late-comer to the neon trend which some might say is already “passé.” But, to those I reply with one of my favorite expressions, “what’s old is new again!”
