The upside of the cold weather is that you’ll get to update your closet with new fashion trends or shop your own closet for fall attire. While I am not a fan of the cold weather, I seize the opportunity to give myself a fresh new look and play dress up all winter by taking cues from the simple pieces put out by different luxury designers e.g. Dolce & Gabbana, Proenza, and many more.
Here are some fall fashion trends from designer collections that I fell in love with:
Lace – It’s huge this fall! It’s not your grandma’s lace anymore. I’ve been seeing it everywhere including in D&G’s runway. It’s young, sexy, and it can be worn in so many ways.
Black & White – This is a very popular trend that will go right into spring and summer. Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2013 collection totally proves that the black and white theme is here to stay.
Faux Leather & Faux Fur – Compassion is always in fashion! I am surprised and delighted to see that faux fur & faux leather continues this fall. I saw a lot of crazy colored faux fur on the runways e.g. burgundy, red, cobalt blue and more. Gorgeous colors and textures with no animals harmed in the process.
